Buklod members from the Ecclesiastical Districts of Quirino and La Union, Philippines were inspired in a special gathering in commemoration of their organization’s 58th anniversary on December 11 and 15, 2020, respectively.
In Quirino Ecclesiastical District, ministers of the gospel taught the married members about caring for the household and the importance of obeying God’s commands in the houses of worship of 35 local congregations. Brother Pedro Palisoc, Jr., district supervising minister, officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Leonardo and Brother Lucadio Sison, minister of the gospel, officiated at Dumabato Congregation house of worship.
Parents looked forward to attend as they will be strengthened in their hope and faith. “I look forward to gatherings such as this because I feel uplifted,” said Malvin Baquiran, a head deacon from San Leonardo Local Congregation.
The couples were reminded that obedience to God’s commands will bring blessings to their family.
“The teachings we received are important because we were reminded of our duties to our household. As a parent, I will make sure that my family is active in serving God and obeying His commands,” Malvin added.
Susan Miguel, a deaconess, said, “We were strengthened in our faith in this special gathering. I understand that being a parent, it is not enough to give children the things they need in this life, but above all to ascertain that they are obedient to God.”
Meanwhile, in La Union Ecclesiastical District, Brother Ardy Mendoza, district supervising minister, officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Santiago Norte. Ministers of the gospel led the special gathering in the houses of worship of 55 local congregations such as in Luna, Balballosa, Dar-aoan, Paraoir, Tanqui, Pagdalagan, Pao-San Fernando, Bauang, Burgos, Poblacion Caba, Aringay, Bail, and Cuenca.
They taught the married members with the words of the Lord God about the right and peaceful marital relationship as a foundation for a successful married life.
“We are so blessed in this special gathering for our organization’s anniversary. We promise that our household will all the more obey God’s commands and we will be strong in the faith,” Sally Medrano, a deaconess from the Santiago Norte Local Congregation, expressed.
Brother Eugene Panuga, resident minister of the Local Congregation of Santiago Norte, said, “The husbands and wives benefited from this holy occasion because through God’s teachings, their love and concern for one another continue to grow and their relationship is made stronger.” — With reports from INC News Section
