With thankfulness in their hearts, the brethren from the Local Congregation of Sagay City, Ecclesiastical District of Negros del Norte, held the first worship service in God’s honor at their beautiful house of worship on September 4, 2021 after its renovation.
This also meant a blessing to the district as it came less than a month after that of the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Canlaon City.
“The renovation of the house of worship in Sagay City gave great happiness to the brethren in this congregation. Despite the current difficulties in life and crisis in this world, the Church continues to build and renovate houses of worship,” Brother Renato Callejo, the district supervising minister, said in an interview after officiating at the holy gathering.
During the worship service, the brethren were reminded of the immense significance of the house of worship in the lives of the people of God, especially during times of difficulties.
The renovation of the house of worship started on October 26, 2019 and was finished on August 27, 2021. The design of the ceiling was changed and the receiving area was expanded to include comfort rooms. A guardhouse and generator housing were also constructed. The landscaping of the compound was also improved and some portions were converted to parking area. Also, the sacred edifice was installed with a new Johannus organ, considered worldwide as one of the finest for use in religious services.
“I am joyful because even though we are geographically far from the Church Administration, they do not forget us. In this house of worship, we will pray to, praise, and serve our Lord God,” Mark Gonzaga, a choir member, said. “We promise to take care and give importance to this house of worship,” Mark added expressing the collective promise of the brethren.
The house of worship is located along Aguilar Avenue, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. — With reports from INC News Section
