In commemoration of its third anniversary, the Local Congregation of Saint-Laurent, Quebec in the Ecclesiastical District of Ottawa, Canada opted to conduct a humanitarian activity.

The Laval and Quebec Group Worship Services (GWS) joined in the blood donation drive held on March 27, 2022.

Days prior to the actual donation, the brethren responded to a survey by answering an online questionnaire, which determine the potential blood donors. On the scheduled date, the brethren first received the reminders and instructions from Brother Melvin Ibañez, resident minister. After a prayer, they proceeded to the headquarters of the Globule de Laval of Héma-Québec, a non-profit organization that administers blood donations, at 1600, Boulevard Le Corbusier (Entrance 4), Laval, Quebec.

Samuel Nisperos, deacon from Saint-Laurent, said, “I’m donating blood every year, and this is my fifth time, actually at the same place. The Church Administration always gives us these opportunities; that inspire me to volunteer, as it is also one way of helping our fellowmen.”

Doreen Faye Asuncion from Laval GWS happily said upon donating: “It’s my third time donating blood. I felt excited because for me, to give blood is to sustain life.” —With reports from INC News Section
