The Sarangani Ecclesiastical District of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) continues to flourish as new members were added during the baptism held on March 18, 2022.

From various local congregations in the district, the candidates for baptism, together with the brethren instrumental to their conversion, gathered at the house of worship of Local Congregation of Apopong, to receive further biblical instructions before their actual baptism.

During the study of God’s words, Brother Romel Garcia, assistant district supervising minister, reiterated to the baptismal candidates the great importance of being a member of the Church Of Christ. He emphasized that membership in the true Church means having the right to worship God and the hope of salvation come Judgment Day.

Reflecting on the truths she was reminded of, Mary Joy Baluran, one of those who were baptized that day, said, “Indeed, there is hope and salvation inside the Church Of Christ. That’s why I feel fortunate and happy to be part of it.”

“Thanks be to God, my efforts have borne fruit. She has finally reached [the day of] her baptism,” enthused Rosie Lima, Mary Joy’s friend who paved the way for her eventual conversion by inviting her to an evangelical mission. “Despite the trials, I will continue to unite with the work of propagation so that more people will  join the Church Of Christ.”

To date, the district, which is in the southern part of Mindanao, in the Philippines, oversees 19 local congregations, nine extensions, and three group worship services (GWS). — With reports from INC News Section
