Members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) and Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in the Ecclesiastical District of New Jersey underwent further training in basic life-saving techniques.

Leadership of both specialized organizations within the Iglesia Ni Cristo deemed the basic life support (BLS) training timely and essential, through which they gained skills they can use during emergency situations.

SCAN, composed of licensed radio communicators, has as its goal to help save lives, especially during emergency situations, while the CMPDS assists the Church with its health and medical missions in the Aid to Humanity projects.

Jason Hamilton, from the Elizabeth Fire Department, served as the lecturer and trainer in the seminar, which was held at the function hall of the Local Congregation of Elizabeth on September 10, 2022.

The SCAN and CMDPS members gained know-how on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well using an automated external defibrillator (AED). They engaged in a hands-on training on conducting CPR after the lectures.

Completing the seminar made the SCAN and CMDPS officers qualify for a CPR/AED certification. — With reports from INC News Section
