Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia attended the online Emergency First Responder (EFR) training seminar on May 30, 2021.

Victor Sanchez, a registered nurse and instructor for First Aid and CPR in Philippine and American Red Cross, facilitated the activity.

He reminded the attendees about the roles and responsibilities of EFR, defined the concept of “first aid,” its objectives, and its application in various situations. The attendees brushed up about the good Samaritan law, first aid equipment and supplies, basic human anatomy and physiology, the use of personal protective equipment, standard precaution, infection definition, disease transmission and common infectious diseases, and medical emergencies and first aid.

District SCAN president Ace Gulapa and vice-president Cris Herald Escuadra, said that they learned a lot in the seminar especially on how to administer emergency first aid on people with different blood pressure ranges such as normal, elevated, and stage 1 hypertension.

Brethren are thankful to the Church Administration for such activity that enhanced their skills in helping out fellowmen in times of emergencies. ― With reports from INC News Section
