Members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) in various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba acquired additional needed knowledge and skills in maintaining safety and security through a seminar on the subject held on October 24, 2021.
The SCAN leadership obtained the help of Kelly Keith, a Master Instructor in the St. Anne Police Department in Manitoba, to serve as the resource speaker.
The Police Sergeant taught the SCAN members about safety and security measures to be taken in emergencies, such as during an active shooter scenario. After the lecture, he fielded questions from the participants for added clarification on the matter. In the closing part of the activity, he was handed a certificate of recognition by the district supervising minister, Brother Sydney Santos.
Besides the SCAN members who attended the seminar on-site, which was held at the auditorium of the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Weston, Manitoba Canada, brethren from neighboring also participated from the comfort of their homes through videoconferencing. ― With reports from INC News Section
