Members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) International in the Ecclesiastical District of Zambales North, in the Philippines, underwent refresher seminar on fire prevention awareness on March 4, 2023.

More than a hundred SCAN officers and members attended the said seminar, which was held at Venuza Garden in Inhobol, Masinloc, Zambales, to further their knowledge and capabilities in preventing this destructive man-made disaster as well as saving lives in case of fire.

Masinloc Fire Station chief Ramon Gutierrez, from the Castillejos Local Congregation in the neighboring Ecclesiastical District of Zambales South, served as the resource speaker. He discussed the precautionary measures to prevent fire and demonstrated what one should do if trapped inside a burning building.

“It is vital for every one to have sufficient awareness on the causes of fire and the necessary precautionary measures needed to prevent it to ensure our safety at all times, especially now that it is also the fire prevention month when fire-related incidents occur more frequently,” Gutierrez stated.

On behalf of his fellow officers and members, district SCAN president Melanio Panuga said, “We will use this knowledge on fire prevention to keep safe not only our personal properties but, most of all, our houses of worship and other Church properties.” — With reports from INC News Section
