Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga del Sur  attended an emergency first response training seminar and workshop held at the Local Congregation of Tawagan Norte on January 9, 2021.

Leo Espinosa, Emergency First Response (EFR) officer, led the training seminar and workshop for SCAN members to develop the brethren’s skills in emergency response and giving first aid.

He explained, “This kind of activity is very useful to new and current SCAN members alike for them to acquire the skills in proper response during emergencies.” He added, “For current members who have already acquired such skills, this will be a booster for them to develop their agility in responding to emergencies.”

Throughout the workshop-seminar, the brethren followed health and safety protocols.

Hercil Corpuz, SCAN member, shared, “I’ve learned from the training seminar and workshop proper bandaging, tie knotting, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR.” She added, “I can use all these skills when needed. I can be of help to my fellow brethren and fellowmen in times of emergencies.”

The brethren are thankful to the Church Administration for the knowledge imparted to them and for the bond of brotherhood that was made even stronger through the training workshop. ― With reports from INC News Section
