Members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) of the Ecclesiastical District of Negros del Norte on March 12, 2022 underwent a refresher seminar on fire prevention procedures to enhance their proficiency in this life-saving skill.

During the seminar held at the Toboso town public gymnasium, Fire Officer 2 (FO2) Bryan Pabillaran, guest speaker, shared tips on how fires could be prevented. He also demonstrated to the members of SCAN whose motto is “Saving lives is our priority,” the proper way of using a fire extinguisher should there be a need for it.

Brother Clark Paraguas, the district overseer of the Christian Family Organizations, said, “This seminar is of great help to the attendees, not only in preventing fire in their respective homes, but most importantly, in taking care of Church property, especially the houses of worship.”

In the Philippines, March has been declared as the Fire Prevention Month due to the alarming number of fire incidents higher compared to other months.

“We, in the Bureau of Fire Protection, already have activities aimed to raise awareness of people about fire prevention. We are thankful to the Iglesia Ni Cristo for doing their part in this endeavor,” said FO2 Pabillaran. — With reports from INC News Section
