A seminar the Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) members in the Ecclesiastical District of New Jersey underwent on January 22, 2023 helped increase their knowledge and awareness on mental health.

The seminar which was held at the house of worship of the Bayonne Congregation focused on managing anxiety. Seminar organizers cited the finding of a recent study that a majority of college students experience overwhelming anxiety, with less than a quarter seeking diagnosis or treatment from a mental health professional.

“This activity really helped the attendees, not only by giving them more awareness on stress and anxiety, but also teaching them ways to prevent and even deal with such, if ever anyone is already going through this mental condition,” shared Kyle Calindas, District CBI Director, the seminar’s resource speaker.

Meanwhile, Brother Solomon Joves, the assistant district supervising minister, delivered a brief lecture based on God’s words. He exhorted the CBI members that whatever worries and anxieties that they were going through, they should turn to the Almighty God who can give the solution to the problems of His servants.

“We are always thankful to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, as well as to the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Coordinator, Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, for approving of seminars such as this,” said Brother Bernard Guerzon, minister of the gospel. “Their concern for the Church members is truly felt for they do not want anyone to be overcome by the stresses of this world.”

CBI is the organization of Church Of Christ members who are studying, with a chapter in every school or clusters of neighboring schools. It aims to help the brethren excel in their academic performances, and more importantly, guide them in leading a Christian way of life. — With reports from INC News Section
