As the dangers of careless social media use have become so prevalent, the leadership of the Local Congregation of Lomboy, Ecclesiastical District of Capas, Tarlac deemed it prudent to offer the brethren essential guidelines on how to be responsible socmed users. This was done through a seminar held at their house of worship on January 6, 2022.

“Man’s advancement in knowledge, such as in the field of technology, is continuous that the Church’s youth must be properly guided in dealing with it, in order to safeguard their being members of the true Church,” Marwin Juanta, KADIWA congregation president and the keynote speaker, said.

He laid out to the brethren the dangers of using social media irresponsibly. He then shared with them Church Administration-approved guidelines as to how they can benefit from its use without endangering themselves, especially their membership in the Church. “Is it true? Helpful? Necessary? Inspiring?” are but some of the guide questions that he encouraged the attendees to remember before liking, sharing, or posting social media contents.

Through a Bible-based lecture before the activity ended, Brother Ronald Bacani, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, reminded the attendees of the kind of life God expects His servants to uphold in the midst of a permissive world.

“It is important to know the right way of using social media, because true servants of God prove their obedience to Him by being role models not only in fulfilling Church duties but also in their everyday life,” said Lavern Ibañez, a Church officer.

On behalf of the congregation, Mark Anthony Flores, resident ministerial worker, said, “We will not get tired in reminding the brethren, especially the youth, about responsible use of social media. More importantly, we will encourage them to use social media in sharing the true faith.” — With reports from INC News Section
