With God’s guidance and help amid the pandemic, the Siena Group Worship Service (GWS) was elevated to a local congregation status. On September 5, 2021, the Local Congregation of Siena, Ecclesiastical District of Italy South, held its inaugural worship service at the Four Points by Sheraton Siena Hotel. Brethren in Sienna were joined by other brethren from neighboring congregations for the holy occasion.

Brother Randy Macalinao, district supervising minister, officiated at the worship service. As health and safety protocols implemented at the area have eased, the brethren were even able to invite guests to witness the momentous occasion. The homily is about the conviction of God’s true servants, which is to worship God and obey all His commandments, in the face of great trials.

An oath-taking of new Church officers commenced after the preaching of God’s words. There was also a video presentation about the history of the congregation after the worship service.

“God does not fail to show His safekeeping. This congregation’s status from being a GWS is truly fast-paced,” attested Gomer Gran, deacon.

“The pandemic crisis does not affect the activeness of the brethren in Siena, led by the Church officers,” said Brother Carlito Apostol, minister of the gospel and Iglesia Ni Cristo School For Ministers (SFM)-Rome Extension Coordinator. He said of the district’s resolve: “We will continue to uphold our election. We will completely unite and submit to our Church Administration.”

Formerly a part of the Local Congregation of Roma Nord, the congregation in Siena began as a GWS on May 19, 2019. Siena is a city in the Italian region of Tuscany, well known for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape, among others. — With reports from INC News Section
