The SOFLAH-Pagsamba ng Kabataan (PNK) Edition district finals and CFO Concert were held together on April 9, 2023, doubling the enjoyment and fun of the brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Davao City as they listened to inspiring Christian music.
CFO stands for Christian Family Organization, while SOFLAH for Songs of Faith, Love and Hope, a singing competition.
The district’s musical special, held at the Davao City Recreation Center, was graced by Brother Macleo V. Ibasco, district supervising minister, and Brother Homer A. Tiomico, assistant district supervising minister, with their presence.
The SOFLAH showcased the performances of the 12 finalists representing their respective congregations. In between their rendition of their contest pieces, select groups from the Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi likewise rendered uplifting Iglesia Ni Cristo original music.
The young brethren’s performances were evaluated by a panel of judges based on voice quality, rhythmic interpretation, and stage presence.
The winners were as follows: Champion—Matt Zamir Buhong from the Panacan Congregation (Kahit Ako ay Bata); 1st Runner-Up—Alkiro Richa from the Panorama Congregation (Kahit Ako ay Bata); and 2nd Runner-Up—Cristine Santilliano from the Matina Congregation (Ipanalangin Mo).
“Thank God for blessing me a talent in singing. It inspired me to participate more in various activities of the Church,” expressed Buhong, who is also a choir member in the PNK or the Children’s Worship Service (CWS). — With reports from Lailanie Pilloses of INC News Section
