Two milestones, one inaugural worship service. July 31, 2022 is a historic day for Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Africa. On that day, the Local Congregation of Ficksburg and the Clocolan Group Worship Service (GWS) were established. The worship service was held the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Ficksburg, situated at 96 Van Soelen St., Ficksburg, Free State.
Ficksburg Congregation started as a GWS in 2018. Its growth led to its elevation to local congregation. Meanwhile, Clocolan GWS was organized from a group of brethren who were formerly enlisted in Ficksburg.
The holy occasion was officiated at by Brother Sheridohn Santos, district supervising minister, and signaled the beginning for the Clocolan GWS. Recognizing the brethren’s efforts in the intensified propagation work of the Church, Brother Santos underscored the importance of remaining active in sharing the true faith by using every opportune time to spread the Good News of salvation.
“I feel very happy that the Church Administration approved Clocolan to be a Group Worship Service,” said Pulane Emily Mokone, who offered part of her property at 2200 Sunflower Park, Clocolan, Free State to be used as a place of worship. It is approximately 36 kilometers away from that of Ficksburg. She is also a volunteer in translating God’s words from English to Sesotho, one of the 11 languages in South Africa. “I will continue to invite more people to come join our Church,” she added. — With reports from INC News Section
