The Ecclesiastical District of Spain recently concluded its own version of the Unity Games which also served as its Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Day.

Held at the Colegio Paraíso Sagrados Corazones in Madrid on May 1, 2023, the event involved members of the Buklod, KADIWA, Binhi, as well as other CFOs, including the Children’s Worship Service, thus, the entire family.

“This activity is for the brethren to show their unity with the Church Administration once again and also their brotherly love,” Brother Ezekiel Silva, district CFO overseer, explained in an interview. “This will help us to be more active in our membership in the Church.”

The family sporting event kicked off with the parade of colors, followed by the players’ oath of sportsmanship, which Brother Silva administered.

Brother Harley Alcantara, assistant district supervising minister, gave the opening remarks. Afterwards, a group of select Binhi members performed the Iglesia Ni Cristo original song Unity Games. Then, KADIWA and Binhi members from the Madrid Norte Local Congregation presented a cheering exhibition.

Eight color-coded teams competed in group games of basketball, volleyball, and football. These were white [Barcelona Congregation, the Group Worship Services (GWS) of Andorra, Girona, and Valencia], orange (Madrid), gray (Madrid Sur, Abrantes, Lisbon GWS), green (Madrid Norte, Benidorm GWS), blue (Mallorca), red (Fuengirola, Marbella, Gibraltar GWS, Sevilla GWS), maroon (Bilbao, Las Palmas, Tenerife GWS, Arguineguin GWS), and violet (Ibiza).
