To strengthen them in the faith, towards better performance of their Church duty, choir members from the Ecclesiastical District of Australia West attended the special gathering dedicated for them on February 18, 2023.

Brother Romeo Beltran, district supervising minister, officiated the occasion at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Melbourne, Victoria, which served as the host site. Choir members from other local congregations gathered at the houses of worship nearest them, that of Adelaide, South Australia; Darwin, Northern Territory; Fremantle, Western Australia; Kalgoorlie, Western Australia; Lae City, Papua New Guinea; Palmerston City, Northern Territory; Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Queens Park, Western Australia; Hobart, Tasmania; and Alice Springs, Northern Territory Group Worship Service (GWS) connected through videoconferencing technology.

In his homily, Brother Beltran encouraged the attendees to always ask for God’s help by means of prayer, so He will help them carry on fulfilling their duty amid the many difficulties in life. He added that other than leading the brethren in hymn-singing during worship services, God also expects, among others, their unity with the intensified propagation of God’s words.

“I’m not new to sacrifices in fulfilling my duty inside the Church,” shared Nesa Matibag-Sandoval, choir leader from the Local Congregation of Kingston City, Victoria. “But these sacrifices only propel me to gain strength and courage from God’s promised help. I will continue fulfilling my duty because I firmly believe that God has blessings in store for me.”

“I looked forward to this special gathering because it is for the edification of my faith, and I wasn’t disappointed,” said Edelyn Dayrit, district choir directress from the Local Congregation of Fremantle, Western Australia. “It’s elating to see the houses of worship filled with choir members. The new ones met the seasoned choir members who are still dedicated to perform their duty.” — With reports from INC News Section
