A district-wide special gathering convened by the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario leadership on November 20, 2022 brought together and edified the faith of Children’s Worship Service (CWS) teachers, officers, as well as their parents.

The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Mississauga West served as the main venue; attendees in other local congregations gathered at their respective houses of worship and connected via videoconferencing.

Brother Raul F. Adalla, district supervising minister, reminded the attendees of how vital their devotion to their duties are in instilling in the children the teachings of God, and exhorted them to serve as exemplars in obedience to Him.

“I was reminded the value and impact of performing my Church duties to the young members. Such message and reminders reinvigorated me,” said Jun Belardo, newly appointed CWS president of the district.

After the homily, 25 new officers in the CWS took their oath of office. One of them, Guillana Calapatan, promoted as a CWS coordinator, enthused, “I aspire to have a part in guiding the future generations of Church members. It’s wonderful seeing how the kids are growing up in the Church faithful and active. I’m very proud to be a CWS officer.”

On behalf of his fellow CWS teachers, Belardo said, “I thank the Church Administration that we were cared for spiritually from a young age, and now that we have become officers and teachers in the CWS, we hope to reciprocate such care by looking after the next generation of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members.”— With reports from INC News Section
