“That the choir members inside the Church Of Christ are spiritually uplifted is indeed important, being the ones who lead the congregational worship services in rendering hymns of praises to the one true God, and to our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Thus said Brother Roland Andrade, supervising minister of Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba, regarding the two special gatherings of the said Church officers he and another minister simultaneously officiated on February 16, 2023.

One group of the choir members gathered in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Winnipeg South, with Brother Andrade ministering to them. The other group assembled in the Regina Congregation house of worship; they were led by Brother Rodrigo Malacad Jr., the assistant district supervising minister.

Spiritually edified through the ministers’ preaching of a Bible-based lesson, the choir members renewed their commitment to always wholeheartedly fulfill their divine duties of singing hymns primarily for the glory of God, as well as for the worshipers’ upliftment.

“We, choir members, are not exempt from experiencing hardships in life but we will continue on fulfilling our duties,” Ace Espino, one of the choir directors in the district, said on behalf of the choir members. “We firmly believe God utilizes us to help in strengthening the faith of our fellow brethren.”

A choir member for 68 years, Gloria Inocentes, has held on to her conviction that  “Church duties are God’s gifts, not anyone else’s.” So much so that she declared: “That biblical truth inspires me to continue performing my duty. God’s promised salvation and the Holy City also motivate me. I yearn to dwell there.” — With reports from INC News Section
