To mark the 43rd founding anniversary of the Ecclesiastical District of Sultan Kudarat in the Philippines, the district held three simultaneous baptisms on January 21, 2022. Those baptized were the fruits of the active participation of the brethren in the work of propagation last year.
The candidates for baptism from the local congregations in and around the town of Isulan gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Isulan to receive the teachings of God in preparation for their actual baptism. It served as the host site of the simultaneous baptisms.
Through videoconferencing, the preaching of the biblical truth by Brother Alfredo Rodriguez, the district supervising minister, was livestreamed to the other two venues of baptism that day where the other candidates for baptism were also gathered—the houses of worship of the local congregations of Tacurong City and Midtungok. From the Bible, Brother Rodriguez reiterated to the would-be-members the importance of receiving true baptism in attaining eternal life in the Holy City.
One of the newly baptized members, Berto Saligan, a chieftain of the Manobo Dulangan tribe in Sitio Hornbill, Esperanza, Sulatan Kudarat, promised, “I will encourage my family and fellow tribe members to also know more about the true Church.” He expressed thankfulness to God for having understood the importance of joining the Church Of Christ.
“Our district continues to strive to heed the call for the intensified work of propagation by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister,” said Brother Fernando Tobias, district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer. “We promise that our district will remain united with the Church Administration in taking part in all the holy endeavors of the Church.”
