Part of the continuing drive of the district to help KADIWA and Binhi officers become effective leaders in their respective capacities, the Ecclesiastical District of Surigao del Norte held a leadership seminar for officers in both Christians Family Organizations (CFO) on September 19, 2021.

“For this leg of the activity, the attendees were the KADIWA and Binhi leadership from local congregations in the mainland of the Surigao del Norte,” Brother Olivon Arpilleda, district CFO overseer, said. Church officers from 28 local congregations were present for the activity as the rest of the 50 local congregations of the district are in island municipalities of the province.

During the seminar, which was held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Surigao City, Dexter John Lerion, the assistant district president of the KADIWA organization, served as the speaker. With the help of a slide show presentation, he discussed the importance, roles, and the characteristics of an effective leader.

“To help the attendees remember the main points of the lecture, we shared to them the difference between a true leader and a bossy type of person. We pointed out to them that a leader is open to new ideas, is a two-way communicator, provides encouragement and builds up his teammates,” Lerion said.

At the end of the seminar, Brother Arpilleda delivered a Bible-based lecture to the attendees reminding them that leaders give premium to the pursuit of wisdom, encouraging them to study well. He exhorted them most especially to have holy fear of God, which according to the Bible, is the beginning of wisdom. — With reports from INC News Section
