Brethren with talent in singing were discovered in the Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope (SOFLAH) grand finals online edition held in the Local Congregation of Tarlac City, in the Ecclesiastical District of Tarlac City, Tarlac on August 1, 2021. It saw the active participation of Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi members from various local congregations in the district. At this time, the province of Tarlac in the Philippines was under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), the country’s lowest quarantine level.
Brethren and supporters of the participants watched from their homes using various media platforms to cheer for their bet. Contenders selected their performance piece from the Iglesia Ni Cristo original music compilation.
Marco Nelmida, one of the judges, explained, “Contestants in the SOFLAH grand finals in our local congregation are all good and talented singers. The only consideration we have left is to put our focus on finding out the best singers in every category.”
“My reason why I participated in this activity, first of all, I wanted to share the talent that God has given me. Secondly, I wanted to show the brethren the value of participating in all Church activities,” said Charm Patio, champion in KADIWA Solo category.
“Part of our preparation is the workshop initiated by the CFO for the Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope. We made our parents our inspirations and we know that they are excited to see us perform in the contest. Most of all, all these are to give glory to our Lord God,” Charmaine Cruz said in an interview with Czarina Cruz beside her, the champions in KADIWA Duet category.
“My inspiration is my family. In this time of the pandemic, I encourage my fellow brethren to continue performing our Church duties no matter what happens and always participate in all Church activities launched by the Church Administration,” said Sol Karenina Catacutan, champion in Buklod solo category. ― With reports from INC News Section
