The choir representing the Tarlac City, Tarlac District emerged champion in the recently held Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation)-Buklod Edition regional level competition.

In the said singing tilt held on October 7, 2022 at the Nueva Ecija Convention Center in Palayan City, Philippines, the group bested other choirs from seven other ecclesiastical districts from Central Luzon.

With the win, the choir booked a spot in the upcoming inter-regional level competition to be held later this year as part of the celebration of the Buklod’s 60th founding anniversary.

“It is a blessing from God that our district won in this competition. We are thankful to our Lord God and all the glory is for Him,” Aris Madrid, conductor of winning choir, enthused.

“The members of Buklod responded to this activity [Himig ng Kaligtasan], especially that this year is the 60th anniversary of their organization,” Brother Dario Medrana, Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer of the Tarlac City, Tarlac District, said. “They may not be professional singers but they strove also to inspire and give joy to the brethren especially in these trying times.”

Himig ng Kaligtasan is a choral competition within the Church Of Christ that seeks not only help brethren develop their talent in singing but, more importantly, edify them in the faith through INC original music. — With reports from INC News Section
