To help in looking after the brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of Tarlac City, Tarlac in the Philippines, new officers were sworn in during a special gathering on May 29, 2021. At this time, the entire province of Tarlac was under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), the most relaxed quarantine status in the country during which persons aged 10 to 65 are allowed out of their homes.

Brother Ronilo Delos Reyes, district supervising minister, officiated at the house of worship of Tarlac City Local Congregation. He emphasized through a biblical lesson that Church officers should fulfill their Church duties diligently, wholeheartedly, and faithfully.

“This oath-taking of new officers is in response to the Church Administration’s call to add helpers in caring for the Church, who will lead the brethren in their active services to God and participation to Church activities for them to be prepared in receiving the promised salvation,” Brother Delos Reyes said.

The Church officers were also taught to show their love and concern for the Church as they fulfill their duties.

“I learned how to hold on to my duty and how to face the trials that I will encounter while fulfilling it. I will give utmost importance to my duty for it is a gift I received from God,” said Crispin Dy Jr., a newly sworn choir member from Baras-Baras Local Congregation.

In behalf of the district, Brother Delos Reyes added, “We wholeheartedly thank our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, because he continues to lead and guide us in our services to God and in fulfilling our duties. We will faithfully  uphold this and we will lead the brethren in their active services—to be prepared in receiving God’s promise.”

To ensure that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) remains a responsible partner of the community in preventing the spread of Covid-19, attendees strictly adhered to the health and safety protocols currently in place. — With reports from INC News Section
