“The brethren were truly inspired by the musical talent and presentations of each local congregation,” Brother Jeffrey Domingo, the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) district overseer, enthused.

On September 5, 2022, the Ecclesiastical District of Texas, which supervises congregations in and around the cities of Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, hosted ‘Songs of Salvation,’ in the process inspiring the participants, as well as the audience. The choral competition was held at the Albert Thomas Middle School, situated at the corner of N8th St. and Selinksy Rd., in Houston, Texas.

Nine local congregations in the district participated in the activity. They were judged based on the following criteria: voice quality, musicality, stage presence, and audience impact.

In the end, the choral group of the Local Congregation of Edinburg was declared champion. Meanwhile, that of Houston and Humble were the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up, respectively.

“This activity all the more inspired the brethren. Not only were they able to express their God-given talent, but also it provided a chance for the brethren to spend time together. Although brethren from some local congregations had to travel far just to participate in this activity, but they did not mind the sacrifices,” observed Brother Virginio Ramilo II, the district supervising minister. — With reports from INC News Section
