The Local Congregation of Ticatig, Ecclesiastical District of Davao del Sur has been blessed with a new house of worship, which was dedicated to the Lord God on June 9, 2021 in a special worship service.

Ticatig is a sitio or hamlet of an upland barangay, Kinangan, in the town of Malita, Davao Occidental, Philippines.

“We dreamt for so long to have a house of worship as nicely built as this. We never thought that we don’t stand a chance even though we are in the middle of these mountainous terrains,” said Brother Pabeleon Salinangan, congregation’s head deacon. “We held devotional prayers and God did answer us—we now have a beautiful house of worship. We’re just so happy.”

Ministers, like Brother Ronald Binasbas, Church officers, and brethren from other local congregations joined the brethren from Ticatig in thanking and praising the Lord for that blessing of His. They first traveled to Brgy. Kinangan, specifically to the Kinangan Congregation’s compound which served as their jump-off point to Ticatig.

“We prepared early [this morning] to go to Ticatig which is [geographically] under the jurisdiction of another province, Davao Occidental,” said Brother Binasbas.

“We would have to walk for almost an hour as Sitio Ticatig is at a higher elevation of Brgy. Kinangan,” added Alvin Engay, Kinangan resident, who welcomed his fellow brethren from Brgy. Tres De Mayo and joined them on their way to Ticatig.

As the Church members tackled the steep route, even crossing a river, there were times they took short breaks along the way. But all the sweat and exhaustion were reciprocated with overflowing God’s spiritual graces in the inaugural worship service officiated by the district supervising minister, Brother Asterio Dedicatoria Jr. He preached from the Bible the importance of completely trusting in God Who never falter in providing for the needs of His chosen people.

On behalf of the congregation and the whole district, Brother Dedicatoria said, “We thank God, and the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for having gifted our district this magnificent house of worship, that this place’s being remote did not even pose a hindrance. It has brought overwhelming joy to the Church members here. We will continue to be one with his aim and purpose of intensifying the propagation of the true faith, so that more people will be able to conduct the true worship of God, that is, through the true Church.” — With reports from INC News Section
