On August 15, 2022, the inter-district INC Unity Games brought together brethren representing the ecclesiastical districts of Italy North and Italy South. The sports event was held at the Palazetto Comunale, a sports complex in Via Giovanni, Pero, Milan.

Italy North District, with its district office in Milan, oversees Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) congregations in the northern part of the Italian peninsula. On the other hand, centered in the city of Rome, the District of Italy South supervises congregations in the southern part of the country.

Before the matches began was the opening ceremony. It showcased the parade of players and sports officials, as well as the welcome remarks, oath of sportsmanship, and prayer.

After the opening ceremony, matches in basketball, volleyball, and football, as well as in chess, darts, Game of the Generals, among other individual events, were facilitated by officers in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) who served as sports officials.

“For the first time after more than two years of the pandemic, the districts here in Italy joined together for the INC Unity Games. Many of the brethren travelled far in order to participate in this activity,” Brother Michael Pineda, CFO overseer of Italy South District, said. “In the activity, we saw how joyful the brethren were,” he added.

“I am very happy seeing brethren not only from my local congregation, but also those from other local congregations, especially those from the neighboring district of Italy South,” Natalia Guevarra from Monza Local Congregation, expressed.

“We are thankful to our Lord God because through the leadership of Brother Eduardo Manalo, our Executive Minister, and the guidance of Brother Angelo Eraño Manalo, the CFO Coordinator, we are able to hold activities like this that bring the brethren ever closer,” said Brother Randolf Villajuan, CFO overseer of Italy North District. — With reports from INC News Section
