Panay Island, situated in the Western Visayas, Philippines, is home to five districts of the Church Of Christ. On September 28, 2021, two of these ecclesiastical districts conducted baptisms of new converts.

In the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South, the candidates for baptism from various local congregations gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Iloilo City. There, they received further biblical instructions prior to their immersion into the water.

Brother Azriel Pelaez, district supervising minister, reminded them through a Bible-based lesson of the need to always be determined in their faith in order to triumph in their Christian service towards attaining salvation on Judgment Day.

One of the newly baptized brethren, Daruel Esparagosa, now enlisted in the Iloilo City Local Congregation, expressed, “I am happy that I am now a member of the Church Of Christ. I will apply in my life what I have learned in the Church like being prayerful and giving importance to the worship services.”

On that same day, the Ecclesiastical District of Capiz held two consecutive baptisms at the house of worship of the Roxas City Local Congregation. The first of the two was officiated by the district supervising minister, Brother Edgardo Gonzales, while the second was led by the assistant district supervising minister, Brother Aser Alas Jr.

During the study of God’s words, the would-be members were exhorted to always remain firmly rooted in the teachings of God especially when faced with difficult trials in their lives.

“We are blessed that God continues to grant us successes especially in the work of propagation as more people are being added that will glorify and worship Him and will be saved come the Day of Judgment,” said Brother Gonzales in an interview.

The Iloilo South and Capiz districts supervise 67 and 52 local congregations, respectively, aside from several extensions and group worship services. — With reports from INC News Section
