Two new houses of worship were recently dedicated to God in the Ecclesiastical District of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, in the Philippines. These were the houses of worship for the Cabanbanan Sian and the Katilingban extensions, which were dedicated on July 28 and 30, 2022, respectively.

Pioneering members of Cabanbanan Sian Extension used to attend the worship services held at its mother congregation, the Local Congregation of Talisay City. Though it is just about 2.7 kilometers away from them, roads are unpaved and travel becomes difficult during rainy days. Commuting is also a challenge. Most of the times, brethren have to walk to the house of worship. Meanwhile, brethren from Katilingban Ext., need to travel the 10-kilometer distance to the Dos Hermanas Congregation’s house of worship.

Reminiscing the struggles they went through, Romulo Biñares, deacon from Cabanbanan Sian, said, “All of us here are more than happy because this new house of worship is situated near our houses.”

Elena Martinez, deaconess from Katilingban, also shared her conviction: “It is in the house of worship where we seek God’s help and refuge from distresses in life. We thank God for guiding us toward our salvation through Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.”

In both occasions, Brother Ronaldo Canlas, district supervising minister, highlighted in his Bible-based preaching the importance to the lives of God’s true servants of the house of worship. “God’s loving-kindness is reserved for those who give high regard to His dwelling place,” he said. — With reports from INC News Section
