Basketball and volleyball teams from the Local Congregation of Capitol Hill and Brooks and Medicine Hat Group Worship Services (GWS) met for a day of friendly matches on June 19, 2022 at the Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre in Calgary, Canada.

The first in-person activity for the brethren from the said congregations after the lockdowns, the Unity Games provided an opportunity for them to bond together through sports. To be able to meet their fellow brethren, the sports teams from Medicine Hat and Brooks traveled approximately 300 kilometers and 200 kilometers, respectively, to reach the venue.

The activity began with the brethren taking the oath of sportsmanship, after which the volleyball and basketball matches began. Officers in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) were on-site to facilitate the games.

“There will be more sports events like this to expect to provide the brethren to enjoy the summer and be active in participating in all Church activities,” Brother John Laurence Adalla, the resident minister, of Capitol Hill Congregation, explained.

The congregations of Capitol Hill, Brooks, and Medicine Hat are all under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, one of the seven established in Canada. — With reports from INC News Section
