Channeling their faith into song performances, brethren from different local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of United Kingdom participated in the Songs of Faith, Love, and Hope (SOFLAH) singing competition on November 14, 2021. Sponsored by Christian Family Organizations (CFO), the activity saw brethren compete in the following categories: Buklod, Elderly, KADIWA, Binhi, and Children’s Worship Service (CWS).

On the day of the competition, the contestants for each of the category were first introduced and the prerecorded video recording of their performance streamed online. Brethren across the district watched the activity from their homes.

“We represented the Buklod category from Plymouth GWS,” said Jefferson Quilantang in an interview, with his wife Krystel-Joy beside him. The couple will represent the district for the regional competition. “We sang the song entitled “Laan Sa Akin.”

“To be honest, going into the competition, I really wasn’t expecting to win at all. And looking out of the other performances especially in the KADIWA category, all the performances were so good. It’s probably so hard to pick a winner,” said Carmella Faller, from the Local Congregation of Exeter, England. “I feel blessed and really lucky to be able to represent the entire district for the regional competition.”

Binhi winner, Carmenne Manoto of Heathrow, London Congregation; CWS winner, Caella Faller of Exeter, England; and Elderly winner, Aurora Smith of Heathrow Congregation will represent the district in the regional finals. ― With reports from INC News Section
