Christian Family Organizations (CFO) from various ecclesiastical districts in Luzon, Philippines conducted cooking challenges to promote nutritious foods presented in a creative way.
On September 14, brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan West competed at Barangay Centro 2, Multi-Purpose Gym, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan; La Union District at the compound of San Vicente Congregation; and Pampanga West District in their various clusters. The Cagayan District’s main dish was snail, La Union District presented different versions of “pinakbet” (a Filipino vegetable dish). Pampanga West assigned the CFOs with beef dish for the Buklod, chicken dish for the KADIWA, and dessert for the Binhi. The dishes were judged based on nutritious ingredients, appealing presentation, and being delectable.
Meanwhile, Quirino District had their Binhi cooking challenge at the compound of the Mangandingay Congregation on September 16. The Ecclesiastical District of Sto. Tomas, Pangasinan conducted their KADIWA Cooking Challenge at the Tomana Elementary School SPED center. Brothers Pepito Mercado and Oswald Mangad, district supervising minister and district CFO overseer, respectively, led the activity on September 1, 2019. The contestants’ main ingredient was pumpkin. The fourth place went to the group from Acop area with their pumpkin chips. The area of Rosales came in third with their pumpkin beef nuggets. The second prize went to the San Quintin area who cooked pumpkin nuggets. Sto. Tomas area emerged as the champion with their squash tuna roll. ― With reports from INC News Section
