In commemoration of their tenth anniversary, Iglesia Ni Cristo members from the Local Congregation of Wanchai, Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong gathered for a celebration at the grounds of Morrison Hill Road Park along Oi Kwan Road in Morrison Hill, Hong Kong in the afternoon of March 7, 2023.

Led by Brother Antonio Besa Jr., resident minister, select brethren and Church officers representing various departments of the congregation, showcased Philippine ethnic dance performances. It was followed by several parlor games the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers facilitated.

“We praise and thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed on our congregation since its establishment. Despite the hindrances that we went through, most especially when the pandemic broke out, the Lord has never forsaken us,” expressed Rosana Sulapas, Buklod congregation vice president.

Indeed, a decade has passed but their local congregation remains steadfast and thriving in all of the Church’s activities “because of God’s grace, and the guidance of the Church Administration,” said Brother Besa.

In the evening that day, the brethren proceeded to the function hall of the congregation’s place of worship to continue their celebration. Representing the six areas of the congregation, a choral group competition was held. Then followed the presentation of the finalists’ artworks in the poster making contest, which was held days before, with the theme “We Need to Believe in, Trust in, and Rely on What God Can Do for Us.”

The winners of the said individual competition were Maricel Asban (first place), Erin Chloe Manuel Supan (second place), and Jet Zander Mendoza (third place). Meanwhile, in the choral group competition, Area 3 bagged the championship award, while Area 1 and 6 placed second and third, respectively.

Witnessing profound joy among the brethren as they actively participated all throughout this activity, Brother Besa said, “It has brought inspiration to everyone in attendance.” — With reports from INC News Section
