Choir members from the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe were strengthened in their faith as they attended a special gathering on September 13, 2020 through videoconferencing.
“Even though we do fulfill our Church duties at home, we still long to wear our uniform once more and be able to perform our duties in the place of worship. It was reminded to us during the special gathering of choir members that we shouldn’t be stagnant, we need to keep improving in the duties that have been entrusted to us so that we can all the more give glory to our Almighty God,” Maria Nestlee Dausin, from Brussels, Belgium Local Congregation, said. “So that’s why I think special gatherings are very important because they are a constant reminder to us and it helps us endure especially in these trying times,” she added.
Brother Marvin Adriano, district supervising minister of Western Europe, officiated at the sacred gathering. In his homily, he reminded the attendees about the value of the duties God entrusted them with and the importance of making sure that they fulfill their tasks even in the midst of trying times.
“It’s such a nice feeling to perform as a choir member. This gives me motivation and inspiration as I live in this world filled with chaos and evil,” Edson Baumgartner, from Geneva North, Switzerland Congregation, expressed. “We know that it’s not always easy to live in this world, especially during the pandemic. When I sing hymns, I become strong,” he added.
The choir members stand their ground because they find the strength they need in fulfilling their duties, in spite of experiencing difficulties in this life.
“Despite what is happening now in this world, the problems, we continue because of the hope, the faith that God has bestowed upon us. When we’re focused on it, it’s like we don’t feel the problems anymore because there is the strength from the Lord God,” Edna May Mendoza, from Marseille, France Local Congregation, said.
“Our Church duty is a gift from the Lord God, the wealth He has bestowed upon us. It is in the fulfilment of all our duties where lies our salvation,” she added.
The attendees were grateful to God and the Church Administration for the worship gathering. They promised to perform their duties wholeheartedly.
“I will continue to fulfill my duty as a choir member with all my heart and with great joy. I will also continue to unite with the different activities launched by the Church Administration, especially in sharing the pristine words of God,” Edson added. — With reports from INC News Section
