Deacons, deaconesses, and group overseers from the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe attended a special gathering through video conferencing on August 2, 2020.
Brother Marvin B. Adriano, district supervising minister, officiated the worship service to the Lord God, in which he conveyed to the officers God’s message through the Church Administration for the further enhancement of their duties for the sake of the brethren under their care.
Recognizing the importance of such special gatherings, Nestor Dausin, head deacon of Brussels, Belgium Local Congregation, said, “It is through these gatherings that the [Church] Administration reminds us officers on how to perform our duties, to have more knowledge, and to share those to the ones under our care.”
Christopher Wright, a deacon from Geneva North, Switzerland Local Congregation, appreciated that its being held was very timely in these difficult times. “By attending this special gathering, it makes you remember even more, especially during these times, to continue to take care of the brethren in our groups and to continue to make sure that they are fine, as that is one of the important duties that a deacon or deaconess or overseer has to do. And because of that, we were once more reminded to truly value our obligations,” he said.
“My duty is important because this strengthens my faith and it is here that I get my strength and I rejoice in performing my God-given duty. That is why I always respond to the call of this duty inside the Church. By fulfilling my divine duty, I can show that I put my hope in the grace that we will receive,” Luz Villarino, a deaconess from Brussels, Belgium Local Congregation, expressed.
Through this gathering, the Church officers felt inspired and spiritually reinvigorated, and were filled with gratitude and love towards the Lord and the Church Administration.
“I thank our Lord God and also the Church Administration for their love for the Church and love for the officers,” Nestor added. ― With reports from INC News Section
