“The preaching we heard from the Church Of Christ is what we have been searching for,” Seviya Kagewalo, chieftain of Kipo Village, East Boroko, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, said.

Together with the members of his village, he listened to the words of God preached during the series of evangelical missions held for the villagers’ benefit by the Local Congregation of Port Moresby, Ecclesiastical District of Australia West from January 22 to 29, 2023.

“There have been a lot of other churches that went in our place. They were only preaching their own teaching. Nothing is quite comparable with the purity of this Church’s preaching,” remarked Kagewalo, who, among others, enlisted as a doctrinal instructee at the end of the eight-day propagation activity.

“‘According to the Bible’, the minister preaches—it is not of his own words or opinion—the words are indeed from God. Listening from such teaching makes us happy and willing to know more,” he observed.

Prior to the evangelical mission, brethren from Port Moresby, distributed copies of the Church’s Pasugo: God’s Message magazine as well as pamphlets in the village.

“We are thankful to the Almighty God for hearing our supplications. More and more of the villagers are taught with the pristine gospel,” said Brother Mark Jayson Montes, the resident minister in Port Moresby. “Kipo village is a bit distant from our local congregation, but the brethren’s zeal inspires them to share the true faith here. Their eagerness is felt as they exert effort in pursuing the propagation work they began in Kipo.”

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) maintains two local congregations, one extension, and four group worship services (GWS) in Papua New Guinea. —With reports from INC News Section
