Valuing their teachers’ efforts amid the pandemic, young members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) from the Ecclesiastical District of Washington DC held a virtual Teachers Appreciation on February 26, 2021.

The event started with words of encouragement from the Bible read by the district supervising minister, Brother Matthew Capistrano. Then the students, from elementary to college level, shared how much they appreciated their teachers and fellow staff members for their selfless efforts by making time for personal one-on-one sessions with students, giving them opportunities to read morning announcements, being considerate in grading their exams, and giving students reality checks and meaningful advice on academic and personal endeavors. Now that classes are conducted both virtually and in-person, the teachers, they said, strive harder to do all they can, showing their patience and giving the guidance that every student needs.

Video presentations of the kids and teenagers sharing their fond thoughts, memories, and thanks to their teachers, were also shown. They enjoyed a guessing game which tested their knowledge about random subjects in grade school, such as Social Studies, Math, Chemistry, Anatomy, and Geography.

The teachers in return expressed their gratitude for the heartfelt appreciation they received from their students. — With reports from INC News Section
