The Ecclesiastical District of Calgary on November 21, 2021 brought together the KADIWA and Binhi members from various local congregations in a special gathering, during which they were reminded of the great importance of prayer and obedience to the Lord God.

The sacred occasion was held in commemoration of the youth organizations’ 48th founding anniversary.

The Local Congregation of Downtown, Alberta served as the main venue for the gathering, during which health and safety protocols were followed.  Other attendees connected from the confines of their homes, through videoconferencing.

The officiating minister Brother Rolando Gaviola delivered the homily based on God’s words, reiterating to the attendees the great importance of being steadfast in the faith shown through faithful obedience to God’s will. The district supervising minister also echoed the Church Administration’s advice for all Church members to put all their trust in the Lord God through prayers in order to overcome temptations, among others.

“At the start of the pandemic, it was very uncertain. People were getting sick and it was really scary. We weren’t sure how our family was going to be affected,” said Camryn Catabay, a KADIWA member from the Local Congregation of Forest Heights, Alberta. “But I knew that whatever happens, I knew that at the end of the day, I can turn to God and I can always tell him all my problems. I know that there is Someone who is always there for me.”

“I am reminded that the words of God never change,” said Jayson Galera, a KADIWA member from the Local Congregation of Capitol Hill, Alberta. “It’s good to be reminded that we should not adopt the traits of this world and we stay firm in our faith as true Christians to follow God’s words.”

“I know there’s a lot of things going around and a lot of temptations in this world. But by following or by being obedient to all the commandments of our Almighty God, I know that I am on the right path and someday I will reach the Holy City,” said Mark Sanchez, a KADIWA member from the Local Congregation of Spruce Meadows. “I thank the Church Administration because of their continuous guidance to all youth, like us [in the district] to help us stand our ground and remain obedient children of God. ― With reports from INC News Section
