January 31, 2026 was a day to remember for 1,829 Church officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Davao City, Philippines for they took their oath of duty during a special gathering held that day at Gen. Malvar Congregation’s house of worship.

Church officers overseer Brother Romer D. Galang officiated the said gathering. In his Bible-based lesson, he reminded the officers, seasoned and new alike, the importance of their duties in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). Come what may in their lives, they must not compromise their Church duties; they must prioritize looking after the Church’s welfare.

Right after the homily, district Church officers overseer Brother Narciso Salas Jr. led the oath-taking of new officers. Their fellow Church officers from 53 local congregations, who have counted many years in fulfilling their respective obligations, witnessed such a milestone. The conference room, among others, served as overflow as the house of worship was filled to the brim with such many attendees.

During the gathering, “God’s spiritual blessings overflowed,” attested newly appointed district KADIWA vice president Karen Pendon from J.P. Cabaguio Congregation. “I learned a lot, which I could aptly use as I lead my fellow youth members.”

“I feel blessed and thankful I was given this opportunity,” said Ralph Spencer Tarroja from Catalunan Grande Congregation, referring to his being Children’s Worship Service officer, which he has just taken oath of. Asked further what inspired him, he added, “My parents, they’re active in their Church duties as well.”

“Me and my two children took oath today as choir members,” shared Jen Nuñez from Gen. Malvar Congregation. “Considering the troublous times nowadays, it’s just right and proper that every family member has a Church duty. It’s what keeps us inspired, strengthened in the faith, and most especially, fulfilling it gives glory to God.”

Like them, David Allen Teves from Matina Congregation has taken oath with his parents. David took oath as a finance officer while his parents, as group overseers. On their behalf, David said, “We firmly believe that these duties are blessings gifted by God. We will fulfill it to the best of our abilities to give glory to Him. We also hope to be of help to the Church Administration.”
