In Central Luzon, Philippines, the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers in Paniqui, Tarlac District, and Bataan District, hosted fitness activities.
Paniqui, Tarlac
On March 29, 2025, Church Of Christ members in Lasong Congregation, in Paniqui, Tarlac Ecclesiastical District participated in a CFO Fun Run.
After being led in a prayer and were given instructions by their resident ministerial worker Brother Gem Gorospe, the participants ran from the compound of their house of worship along Barangay Lasong Road to Barangay Florida. The men ran for 5 kilometers, the women for 3 kilometers, while the young members for 500 meters—each having their respective finish line depending on the said distance and category.
As the activity concludes, the first three finishers of the three categories received medals and other prizes. Named as first placers in each category were Emerald Mari (men); Marella Arciosa (women); and Chris James Domingo (Children’s Worship Service).
Organist Reynaldo Clemente shared that he and his family “were all glad for being able to take part in this activity which is also beneficial to our health.” Also, Rizza Apalla, CWS teacher, added that “by having proper exercise, one can ably perform his or her divine duties.”
Brother Gorospe explained that “the activity aimed at encouraging the brethren and their respective families to become more active in taking part in various endeavors supported by the Church Administration.”
Bataan
Meanwhile, brethren from Bataan Ecclesiastical District took part in a similar activity, CFO Fun Walk that was held at the Dinalupihan Track and Field Oval in Dinalupihan on April 5, 2025.
After warming up through a physical fitness dance, the participants were led by district supervising minister Brother Roderick Chulvo in walking a kilometer towards the finish line.
Among the participants was Charles Toquero from Hermosa Congregation who, despite having busy work schedules, “did not hesitate to take part in this worthwhile activity.”
District CFO overseer Brother Jerson Galvez expressed that “the joy of the brethren was felt throughout the activity, and this resulted to them having a stronger bond as brothers and sisters united by the same faith and hope.”
“This activity was held to further strengthen the bond among Christian families, and to remind the brethren on the importance of maintaining good health so that they can continue to use their bodies in performing their duties which please the Almighty God,” stated Brother Chulvo. — With reports from Andrea Natalicio and Belle Penuliar of INC News Section
