ORMOC CITY, Leyte — Residents in Ormoc City, Leyte benefited from a medical mission conducted by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) under the project “CFO Cares” on May 3, 2025 at the Linao Central School covered court in Barangay Linao.

The activity provided free checkups, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, and gave away medicines and vitamins. Senior citizens received maintenance medicines, while children and adults were treated for common illnesses such as colds, flu, and fever.

Medical services were provided by members of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS), a group of INC members who are doctors, dentists, nurses, and other health workers. They volunteered their time and skills to care for those who joined the activity.

Several families who lost their homes in a fire in Barangay Ipil earlier this year also received help. They were given medical care and care packages, including clothes for worship. The assistance was led by Brother Marvin Garlitos, the INC District Minister in Leyte.

The event was part of the “CFO Cares” project of the Church. CFO stands for Christian Family Organizations, which include Buklod for married members, KADIWA for single members aged 18 and above, and Binhi for baptized youth aged 12 to 17. These groups aim to strengthen the unity of Church members, support their spiritual growth, and help make every family in the Church worthy of salvation.

Brother David Ray Recide, INC Minister, thanked the Church Administration for their support.

“We thank our Lord God for using our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, to guide and strengthen us,” he said.

“We also thank Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, who leads the Christian Family Organizations, for helping us carry out this activity.”

He added that many other congregations in Leyte will also receive help through upcoming “CFO Cares” events.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a community partner that helps. It has active members and congregations in more than 160 countries and territories.
