PANGASINAN and NUEVA VIZCAYA, Philippines — More than 200 blood bags were collected from the blood donation activities organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in April in the provinces of Pangasinan and Nueva Vizcaya which were turned over to public hospitals and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to address the blood needs of patients.

In Calmay, Pangasinan, a blood donation activity was conducted in partnership between the INC and Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC). According to Gerald Dioquino, Donor Recruitment Officer of R1MC, they have been partners with INC in such activities for almost a decade now. “Programs like these are a big help, especially since the need for blood continues in our hospital,” he said.

According to Brother Buenaventura Gomez Jr., INC Minister, the Church also conducted a blood donation drive in Bugallon, Pangasinan, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross in the same month.

In Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, INC also held a blood donation activity at the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH). Dr. Arlene Jara, Chief of Hospital, stated that donations are vital to ensure adequate supply of blood for patients with dengue, cancer, and other serious illnesses.

Jehovah Olpindo Jr., Blood Bank Coordinator of NVPH, emphasized the significant help from partner organizations like INC. “During the dengue season, the need for blood increases. INC’s help is essential to meet this demand,” he explained.

These activities were made possible through the collaboration of hospitals and INC members who voluntarily donated blood in obedience to God’s command to help those in need.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a community partner that helps. It has active members and congregations in more than 160 countries and territories.
