The Ugong Local Congregation, Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East commemorated its 99th year of establishment through an anniversary concert, which was held at the 72nd Events Center along Felix Avenue in Pasig City, Philippines on May 18, 2025.
Assistant district supervising minister Brother Herbert Lazala graced the event with his presence. In his opening remarks, he encouraged the brethren to remain grateful to the Lord God for His safekeeping and blessings through the years and to the Church Administration for the continuous help and guidance to their congregation.
As their way of further expressing gratitude to God, talented brethren showcased their artistry through performances of Iglesia Ni Cristo original music, blending inspiring song and dance numbers to give glory to Him.
“From being one of the performers who sang, danced, acted, hosting the events before to directing and leading now the 99th anniversary, I’m always looking forward to every anniversary celebration of our local congregation,” said choir member Jazmine Anne Teves who was among the organizers. “99 years of God’s grace for Ugong Congregation is truly a huge blessing. Pondering upon His blessings as well as its centennial nears makes my faith strong,” she added.
Attendees appreciated the performances, with each song reflecting the steadfast devotion and gratitude to God.
Resident minister Brother Joffrey Oraye capped the occasion with his closing remarks and a prayer of thanks to God for the success of this activity that has added zeal to the brethren.
“This anniversary is significant, not just because it marks 99 years of our congregation. Also, it’s a proof of our Lord God’s unwavering mercy toward the congregation,” Brother Oraye explained. “As we approach our congregation’s centennial, may every member remain steadfast in faith, actively fulfilling their duties, and continuously strengthening the unity in the Church.”
“We hope for the congregation, with the help of God, to achieve more victories that echoes to the brethren’s hearts,” said local Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Danilo Dagdag. “As the Administration wants for the Church, we will take care of the brethren so that no one will be left behind in our journey towards salvation.” — With reports from Kaiser York Agdaca and Rhia Estopace of INC News Section
