Care for Humanity has been an international event, being conducted at different parts of the world, such as in 8 ecclesiastical districts in North America, namely, British Columbia, Calgary, Eastern Ontario, Edmonton, Greater Toronto, Manitoba, Southern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and now here in Saskatchewan,” Brother Ramil Macaspac, Saskatchewan District supervising minister, said.

The series of Care for Humanity events, which started a week ago in other ecclesiastical districts, was held in line with commemorating the 139th birth anniversary of Brother Felix Y. Manalo (1886-1963). Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members firmly believe that he is God’s messenger in these last days.

Led by resident minister Brother Ernie Monterde, brethren from the Local Congregation of Regina hosted the event. It was held at their house of worship compound on May 18, 2025.

The day’s program started with district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Alvin Ching leading a prayer. Treating the guests with entertainment while having light refreshments, Buklod, KADIWA, Binhi, and Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members from the said congregation and of the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Group Worship Service (GWS) showcased their talents in singing Iglesia Ni Cristo original music.

Members of the Christian Medical Dental Paramedical Society (CMDPS) also had their part in the event as they gave medical assistance, such as free blood pressure and glucose monitoring.

A video presentation followed, showing the Church’s relentless efforts in conducting humanitarian activities for the benefit of various communities worldwide, all for God’s glory. Afterwards, a total of 110 care packages containing non-perishable foods and other basic items were distributed to the residents.

“The Church is not asking for anything in return. What the Church and its members do is to actually fulfill God’s commands to help our fellowmen, especially those who are in need,” said Brother Macaspac on behalf of the Church. — With reports from Natalie Ered Saren and Ramille Joy Macaspac of INC News Section
