BACOLOR, Pampanga — Over 200 volunteers from various parts of Bacolor, Pampanga and nearby areas participated in a blood donation drive held at the Bacolor Municipal Gym on June 28, 2025. By the end of the activity, about a hundred bags of blood were successfully collected.

The event was part of a community outreach effort aimed at supporting local blood banks and hospitals. Organizers noted that the initiative could benefit patients not only within the province but also in neighboring regions. It is also seen as an expression of compassion and volunteerism within the community.

Brother Ryan Gavino, one of the lead organizers and a minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), expressed appreciation for the strong turnout of volunteer blood donors, including those who donated blood for the first time. “They were eager to donate. In fact, they had been looking forward to this event because of their desire to help those in need of blood,” he said.

One of the first-time blood donors, Sarah Roman, even encouraged other young people like her to donate blood. “I share the goal of helping those in need of blood,” she said. She urged the youth to not fear the process, highlighting the positive impact it can have—not only on others but also on the donor’s health and well-being.

The collected blood bags were processed and sent to accredited blood banks for wider distribution. The donations are expected to help maintain sufficient blood supply in both public and private hospitals across the region.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a Christian religion in more than 160 countries and territories and a community partner that helps.
