ORION, Bataan — More than a hundred resident and volunteers from Orion, Bataan joined a clean-up drive in Barangay Sabatan on June 28, 2025.
The participants showed up early, ready to help clean and care for their surroundings.
“We do clean-up activities every month,” shared Jomiel Gatchalian, one of the organizers. “We arrived early with the cleaning tools we prepared ourselves.”
With brooms, sacks, and gloves in hand, volunteers worked as a team—clearing weeds, sweeping up litter, and collecting trash, which was later picked up by the barangay’s waste management team.
“It’s really nice to see efforts like these,” said Aya Llenda, a resident of the area. “We appreciate their help. It really helps us avoid sickness and keeps the road clean.”
The clean-up drive was part of the INC Giving program of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).
Brother Melvin Cayabyab, INC District Supervising Minister in Bataan South, explained that the program started by the INC Church Administration aimed to help people and local communities.
“This kind of activity helps prevent illnesses like dengue and keeps the neighborhood clean,” he said.
The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a Christian religion and community partner that helps. It has active members and congregations in more than 160 countries and territories.
