A total of 173 kids in the Ecclesiastical District of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, recently graduated from the Pre-Kindergarten Program (PKP) of the New Era University (NEU). Held at respective venues set by all the local congregations of the district, their moving-up ceremony was held on June 14, 2025.
“The Church Administration, through the NEU, launched this program not only to prepare the children for formal schooling but also to mold them in having good manners,” said Vallehermoso Congregation resident ministerial worker Brother Ariston Bayog-ang. PKP is open to children, both Iglesia Ni Cristo members and nonmembers, ages 4-5.
Accompanied by their parents and relatives, the PKP students were called to the stage one by one to receive ribbons and certificates. Before the ceremony concluded, the young completers sang the moving-up song titled Today, We Graduate.
“My experiences in attending the PKP classes were joyful and meaningful. I have learned many things such as alphabets, numbers, colors, and shapes. I also learned how to get along with others through interacting with my teachers and classmates,” said Sabrina Balahan, Children’s Worship Service member from Guihulngan City Congregation.
Her mother, Guihulngan City Congregation deaconess Maria Elizabeth Balahan, was likewise overjoyed for her daughter, saying, “I saw how she improved not only in knowledge but also in her behavior in socializing with other people. I thank the Church Administration so much for launching this program. It is a proof of their concern for our children’s future.”
“We’re very glad and proud that the children whom we’ve taught have finished the program,” said Guihulngan City Congregation secretary and finance officer Divina Embra. “It’s very fulfilling that my efforts and hard work in teaching them resulted to their improvement in knowledge and character.” — With reports from Honeylen Anojada of INC News Section
