To promote mental health awareness, the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan in the Philippines hosted a seminar on July 8, 2025 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Jose. With the theme “Mind Matters: Supporting Mental Health Through Awareness and Empathy,” it was led by minister of the gospel Brother Elmar Palapar II of the INC Pastoral Counseling Center.

“A part of the seminar was about helping children to avoid and cope with depression,” said Buklod member Edelynne Banalan from the Local Congregation of Baliwag. “I will use what I’ve learned to prevent my child from undergoing such mental disorder.”

After the seminar, the attendees proceeded to Amian Farm along Magsaysay St., in San Simon, Pampanga, for an interactive exhibit, which incorporated various activity booths such as Gratitude Wall, Breathing Exercise, Art and Play Therapy, Grounding Technique/Music Therapy, Exercise Zone, Horticulture Therapy, among others.

“This activity brings immense benefit to Church officers and members alike,” explained district counseling aide Brother Prynz Orbe. “The ministers and ministerial workers, being the primary extension of the Church Administration in caring for the Church, also gained valuable knowledge and skills through this initiative—equipping them with wisdom that can be taught to and shared with every member.”

Various information and issues about mental health were displayed through informational panels and posters at the venue.

“The ministers, ministerial workers, officers, and brethren here thank our Lord God for placing a Church Administration that is loving and deeply compassionate,” Brother Orbe expressed on behalf of the district. “Our well-being is taken care of in all aspects—physical, mental, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual.” — With reports from Jared Manalastas of INC News Section
