Three local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan each commemorated their respective anniversaries by, among others, conducting evangelical missions.
Both Taoyuan City and Luzhu Congregations reached their 10th anniversary and held the propagation activities on July 15 and 18, respectively; while those in Guishan Congregation, now on its ninth year, conducted theirs on August 1, 2025.
Held at the congregations’ places of worship, each of the three propagational events were presided over by district supervising minister Brother Roel O. Castillo.
He imparted, especially to the guests invited by the congregations’ members, a lesson about God’s call to all people that they might be spared from the impending worst destruction, that is, by joining the true Church Of Christ.
Taoyuan
Named after a city in Taiwan, the Taoyuan City Congregation used to be the Area 2 of the Zhongli Congregation. The second farthest from the place of worship and having one of the most number of members, the Area was organized as a separate congregation on July 16, 2015—20 days after Taiwan Ecclesiastical District was established.
Led by current resident minister, Brother Ritche Glenn Saet, brethren from Taoyuan invited loved ones and fellowmen to the evangelical mission. They were able to bring along 74 guests, some of whom expressed their desire to continue knowing more about the true Church, according to the congregation’s Light of Salvation Committee records.
Luzhu
The place of worship of the Luzhu Congregation is located at No. 9, Nanshang Rd., Luzhu District, also in Taoyuan. It is 18 kilometers away from the Taiwan District’s office and the Zhongli Congregation’s place of worship.
Brethren from Luzhu also used to belong in the Zhongli Congregation. It was also on July 16, 2015—the same date as that of Taoyuan—that Luzhu became a separate congregation.
In the evangelical mission, the congregation, led by resident minister Brother Dennis Serrano, had 91 guests.
One of them, named Marlou Sotelo, said in an interview: “The biblical teaching taught caught my interest. I want to learn more regarding this Church’s being the true religion. I look forward to more Bible studies.”
Guishan
Brethren from the Guishan District, also of Taoyuan City, had constituted the Area 2 of Linkou Central Congregation. They used to travel 15 kilometers to and from the place of worship. In 2013, they were organized into the Kweishan District Group Worship Service and in three years became a full-fledged local congregation on August 3, 2016. Its current resident minister is Brother Benedicto Aquino Jr.
In their recent evangelical mission, the Guishan Congregation had 83 guests, among whom was a 46-year-old Taiwanese named Stanley Chou. “I’m very thankful because I was invited by my friend to attend this Bible study. When I heard the teachings taught by the minister, I’ve felt this peace of mind. I believe that the teachings I received are indeed the words of God. I’m willing to continue learning about the Church Of Christ,” he said.
