The Local Congregation of Kilim in the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte, in the Philippines, conducted a series of activities held on August 23, 29, and 30, 2025.

The congregation’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers organized all these that were led by resident ministerial worker Brother Gabby Macato.

Team building

Up with the sun, the brethren traveled on August 23 to Baybay City, which is half-kilometer away from their house of worship where they first gathered for a prayer.

After the opening remarks by Brother Macato, the congregation Buklod vice president Bobeto Empredo explained the guidelines for the games that followed: Guessing game, Straw Relay, Sack Race, and Pyramid Cup.

Filled with enthusiasm, the brethren engaged in the said recreational activities, which “helped us bond with one another and further strengthen our love of the brotherhood,” said Binhi president Julius Ceazar Diaz.

Coastal clean-up drive

Six days after, on August 29, the Church members in Kilim went to a coastal area also located within their neighborhood. Equipped with cleaning materials, such as brooms, rakes, sacks, and trash bags, they swept the area, removing and collecting weeds and other waste to be disposed of later.

“Participating in this activity brings me joy, especially as it helps maintain the environment clean, which contributes to the physical and mental well-being of the residents,” said Society of Communicators and Networkers International member Kevin Gorio.

Fun walk

To promote good health and camaraderie, Kilim brethren held a Fun Walk a day after, on August 30. An activity of one-kilometer walk along Diversion Road, also within their village, “this was rewarding, for it enhances my physical health as I bond with the brethren in our congregation,” expressed choir member Lovely Jane Inot.

“This event is truly invigorating—especially with that beautiful view. It’s exactly what I need: a chance to exercise and recharge the body, to further serve the Lord God,” said head deacon Jeremias Vestra.

On behalf of all the brethren in Kilim, Macato said, “We thank our Lord God for the success of these activities, through which the Church Administration is instrumental in safeguarding our faith, making us all even more steadfast in the faith, and be pleasing to Him.”
